A Bit of Ski History in Andorra<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The history of skiing in Andorra begins in 1956<\/strong> with a truck engine, which powered the first ski lift installed at the top of Coll Blanc, in Pas de la Casa<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>

Seven years later, the first ski lift was installed in Soldeu<\/strong><\/a>, thus beginning a privately funded project.<\/p>

In the mid-eighties, Pas de la Casa<\/a> \u2013 Grau Roig<\/a><\/strong> incorporated the first automatic snow cannons, while in the neighboring resort, the Riba Escorxada<\/strong> sector was inaugurated, with access from El Tarter<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>

In 1996<\/strong>, the first eight-seater cable car in the Pyrenees<\/strong> was put into operation in Soldeu<\/strong><\/a> and in the year 2000<\/strong>, a new sector, Canillo<\/strong><\/a>, was launched.<\/p>

On the other hand, Pas de la Casa \u2013 Grau Roig<\/strong> installed the first six-seater detachable chairlift in the Pyrenees in \u00a01997<\/strong>.<\/p>

In 2003<\/strong>, the two resorts, already physically connected, became Grandvalira<\/strong><\/a>, the largest ski resort in the Pyrenees and Southern Europe<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
